Problem

Valley Middle School in Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota (55124) needed extensive concrete floor preparation before a new high-performance floor coating system could be installed. Existing thin-set mortar remained along the perimeter walls, and the concrete floors required mechanical grinding to properly prepare the surface for maximum coating adhesion and long-term durability.

Solution

Permanent Coating Solutions mechanically removed the remaining thin-set mortar along the walls and professionally ground the concrete floors to create the proper surface profile for coating adhesion. Once surface preparation was complete, we installed a high-performance floor coating system using Surface Logic PolyGuard 85 as the protective topcoat on designated floor areas. The finished floor provides excellent abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, durability, and long-term performance for a high-traffic commercial and educational environment.
