Problem

The homeowner's garage floor had an existing floor coating that had failed due to age, wear, and loss of adhesion. Solution

Permanent Coatings began by mechanically diamond grinding the entire garage floor to completely remove the failed coating and expose clean, sound concrete. Once the old coating was removed, the floor was professionally shot blasted to remove remaining dust and contaminants while creating a Concrete Surface Profile (CSP-3). Achieving a CSP-3 profile is one of the most important steps in a successful coating installation because it provides the mechanical bond needed for maximum adhesion between the coating system and the concrete. After the concrete was properly prepared, we installed a premium epoxy base coat, broadcast decorative vinyl flakes for a durable, attractive finish, and completed the system with a protective topcoat. The result is a long-lasting garage floor designed to resist hot tire pickup, chemicals, stains, road salt, abrasion, and everyday use.
