New Concrete Shop Floor Full-Flake Epoxy Coating in Glencoe, MN
· Glencoe, Mcleod County, MN · Full-Flake Epoxy Coating
Problem
Cohrs Farms had a new concrete shop floor in Glencoe, Minnesota that needed a durable, professional coating system capable of handling the demands of an active shop environment. Although the concrete was new, proper mechanical surface preparation was still necessary to remove surface laitance and create the profile needed for strong coating adhesion. The goal was to protect the new concrete before it became exposed to vehicle traffic, dirt, oils, chemicals, road salt, and everyday shop use.
Solution
Permanent Coating Solutions mechanically prepared the new concrete shop floor using industrial shot blasting. The shot-blasting process opened the concrete surface and created the proper mechanical profile for a strong bond between the concrete and coating system. After surface preparation was completed, we installed a Sherwin-Williams full-flake epoxy floor coating system. The epoxy system provides a strong bond to the properly prepared concrete, while the full broadcast of decorative flake creates a uniform, professional appearance and adds texture to the finished floor. The completed coating system provides a durable, easy-to-clean surface designed to protect the concrete from normal shop traffic, dirt, automotive fluids, chemicals, moisture, and the harsh conditions associated with Minnesota winters.
